Car buying woes

I will never, ever do a lease on a car ever! It is my worst nightmare come true. Leasing is definitely a lifestyle because when you start you cannot stop. The beginning of my nightmare starts here. When I first met Brian he had a truck, through a lease. We liked the truck, but the payments were not so likable. We decided to turn in his truck and we thought the easiest way was take it back to the dealership we got it from. I was pregnant at the time with Audrey and thought we needed a more economic vehicle with better gas mileage. We ended up leasing a Toyota Corolla. The only thing I do like about it is the low mileage. Anyway 1 1/2 years later we hate our car. It is just to small. To sit in the back you are sandwiched between two car seats. Brian and I came to a decision we needed a bigger car after buying a TV and not fitting and buying a tiller and barely fitting. We first approached the dealership we leased our car from, left a message and still no reply.

We did some research online and thought the Dodge Journey would be the perfect car, 1. It is not a van, 2. It seats 7 comfortable, and 3 It was not a van. My lovely husband and I thought we would start at a dealership in Brigham. We arrived at the place and right when you see the dealership we get a stomachache. We drive around the parking lot and just not wanting to park. We finally get the nerve and park. We get out and start walking away from the building hoping we were not spotted and can window shop for a second in peace. Then here he comes, ugh, I hate shopping for cars. He asks what we are looking for and they have a few. We take a look and then it all comes out the, stupid lease! When they hear the word lease it is like we are pure evil and their ears began to bleed and go running back to their desks to hide. But this guy did not scare to easy. He said to e-mail him some info about our lease and he could see what he could do. Little did we know we just opened a big can of worms.

He e-mailed us back that he could get us what we wanted and the price we wanted. The one little problem and this is were the mark of the lease will always be on us. We owe way more than the car is worth. So they get to tack on the hefty amount on our loan and right when we drive off the lot our car is greatly depreciated. We would never be able to sell this car or trade it in because we already owe way more than it is worth. And also if we got in a car accident we would be in deep dodo. There is this gap insurance we can buy but that is like another $1000 added to our loan! I am just so upset and just feel sick. If you are thinking about doing a lease do not do it!

To be continued.......
