It will be my one year anniversary in June of me becoming a Lilla Rose Consultant.  Last year I was in quite a few boutiques and some were pretty successful. It is spring and that means Boutique Season again!  The first one on my agenda is the Ruby James Boutique in West Haven.  Super excited and I hope you all can make it.

Lilla Rose re-released the popular February Rosey Heart clip for May.  Grab it now before it is gone.  It would make the perfect gift for your mother!

The Flexi Clip for May is called the Cameo Appearance.  I think it is beautiful!

May Flexi of the Month reveals a lovely lady relief atop a gorgeous blue background and matching colored accents. The antiqued work adds to the effect of this timeless treasure. The Cameo Appearance will be available for just a short time. You won't want to miss collecting this charming piece of hair jewelry just in time for Mother's Day.

Let's Go Bananas!

Let's do a Banana Roundup!  Going through my archives I found a few recipes using bananas and I thought I would gather them all together for you in one post.  And I added two new recipes just for you, now don't you feel extra special!

First recipe is my mom's tried and true banana bread!  My most favorite and you must try it today, unless you don't have ripe bananas then you have to wait.

My Mom's Banana Bread

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup ripe bananas mashed (2 or 3)
Chocolate Chips optional

Sift dry ingredients together.  Cream shortening and sugar together with mixer.  Add eggs and beat well.  Add dry ingredients, alternating with banana.  Pour into greased loaf pan.  Bake 350 for 1 hour and toothpick comes out clean.

When I have some ripe bananas, chocolate chips and cool whip I must make banana pancakes.  My kids love them and while we eat we must listen to the Banana Pancake Song by Jack Johnson.

Betty Crocker Pancakes

1 large egg
1 cup flour
3/4 cup milk (I like to add a little extra)
1 Tablespoon sugar
2 Tablespoons oil
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Whisk dry ingredients together in one bowl.  Whisk wet ingredients in another.  Pour dry into wet and mix until not so lumpy.

To make banana pancakes add chopped up banana and pour in some chocolate chips to batter.  Pour onto hot skillet.  When cooled slightly add dollop of cool whip and play this song a few times.

Below are a few of my other favorite banana recipes....just click the caption below each picture and it will take you to my post.

Hi!  Welcome to Our Daisy Patch, Blog Hoppers!  My name is Katrina and I hope you enjoy my blog.  I love to cook, bake, create crafts and sewing projects.  I hope you can mingle awhile and check out some of my posts.  Another thing I love is Lilla Rose Hair Accessories.  I have been a Lilla Rose Consultant for 1 year now and I would love to share their products with you by giving away

$45 in Lilla Rose Hair Accessories!

The most popular Lilla Rose Product is the Flexi Clip.  The Flexi Clip is made from music wire and is hand beaded with a metal pin that stays attached so you will never loose it.

The Flexi Clip flexes around the hair and then you bring the pin under the hair or across the scalp and you attach the pin on the other side of the clip and is held by tension. So no needed elastic hair bands, bobby pins or plastic claws to hold your style in place.  The Flexi Clip is durable, comfortable and beautiful all in one!
The Flexi Clip comes in 7 sizes and this video will help you pick what size for your hair type or style.  The sizes are from mini to mega!  If you have super fine hair and you think nothing works you should try the mini flexi.  Or if you have mounds of thick hair and nothing stays in or you keep breaking bands or clips the flexi will work in your hair.

The Flexi Clip can be worn in many different ways.

Thick, curly hair
French Twist done with ease and beauty

Lilla Rose also carries other

The Adjustable, Beaded Hair Bands are one of my favorites.  No pinching at the temples and can be worn with glasses.  They are easily adjustable so your little girl could wear it and you.

My Crazy Obesession

I have a crazy obsession.....it isn't so bad that it takes up my whole house or anything and I don't need psychiatric help.  I don't have to buy one when I see it, but I want to sometimes ;).  One night I was watching My Crazy Obsession on TLC and I thought of my little obsession and I wanted to share it with you guys.  I guess it isn't really an obsession, more of a collection.

It all started when I was probably about 8 or a little older.  I had the best babysitters in the world.  Their names were Amy and Sandy and they were sisters.  I liked Amy the most because she brought her paper doll collection with her when she came to baby sit.  My mom worked at a bank so she was gone when I got home from school.  She said if I ever got scared that I could call Amy and Sandy and they would come over. Amy would come and we would play paper dolls for hours.  We laid them all out, she had made paper beds for them and we would dress them up and act out little soap operas.  She also taught me how to make clothes for paper dolls by taping a piece of paper on a window and putting the doll behind it and tracing an outfit.

I got older and didn't need a babysitter anymore but I still loved paper dolls.  Below are pictures of a few of my favorites.
This Rainbow Bite is pretty old and I still have most of the pieces.  She is cool because it is a vinyl cling version so you don't have to worry about the paper tabs tearing off.  Love her!

When I was little there was a store called King's that I loved to shop at.  They had a big toy area upstairs and I always ran to the coloring book section.  In that section they had paper dolls also.  That is where I probably got half of the sets I have.  I could get a paper doll set for a dollar or two.

Of course you have to have a barbie set.  I liked this one because she came with black and white outfits you could design and color yourself.
This is a fun one.  It is a vinyl set that I played with a lot.  It was a sleepover party and you could decorate the room also.
Probably the most unique set I have.  Barbie is plastic and it came with a glitter pen and some tissue paper.  You could decorate her clothes and then you stuck them on with a wax crayon stick.

My mom got this catalog in the mail that had awesome paper dolls.  I saved up for these sets.  These types of sets you had to hand cut out, not the punch out kind.  Some I have cut out all the way, but others I left alone.  When I got these I was older and playing house had lost its appeal.  But I did enjoy dressing them up.

They came with two girls and I kept their clothes separated between a piece of cardboard and then put them in a Ziploc bag.

The outside cover had numbers written and with a description of each outfit and designer.  So as I cut them out I wrote the number, designer and name of dress on each one.  I got a bit crazy!

Of course I had a ballet set!
I loved the Anne of Green Gables series so I had her also.
I loved the sets that I could color my own designs.
I can't remember where I got this little set.  It is cute and I think it is funny the gentlemen only has one outfit.

I even got paper dolls as birthday cards.
I have two girls so you know what I buy for them a lot!  I bought this set for Aria before she could even talk.  I like that it is wood and the outfits are magnetic

This set is wood and magnetic also.  A neighbor girl gave this set to my girls.  They love it and it is small so we keep it in the church bag.
I get excited about how far the paper doll has come.  I like this one that the clothes can be stored in the tin and more travel friendly.
We even have paper dolls in the tub!

What really got me thinking about paper dolls again was Lily and Thistle MiniMe Paper Dolls.  This company is super cool!  You can make a paper doll to look like your child!  I got these for my daughters for Valentines Day and they are so cute.  I should have made a Mini Me also so I could play too!

The set comes with many beautiful outfits and I signed them up for the outfit of the month club.  So we get an adorable outfit each month for a year.  The doll and outfit are sent in pdf form, you cut them out and I decided to laminate so they would last longer.

I bought a coupon organizer to store them in.  I also purchased this amazing restickable mini tabs to stick the clothes on their dolls over and over.  Paper dolls have come a long way!
