When I was a little girl we used to make ice cream once in awhile, but in the winter. Okay so you are thinking ice cream in the winter! Well we had the old fashioned, hand crank contraption and it was easier to just plunk it in the snow and crank away.
A few summers ago Brian and I purchased an electric ice cream maker, but you had to still add ice and salt. It is still kind of time consuming. I wish I had one of these....someday. I would probably make to much ice cream and get really, really fat, so maybe it wouldn't be a good idea.
Today's recipe is kind of like ice cream, but no machine required. The first day we tried this dessert it had the texture of a mousse and over the next couple days more like ice cream. All I really know is that we really liked it and it was super easy. Also a great recipe for the kids to help make.

2 cups cold milk
1 tub (8 oz.) Whipped Topping, thawed
1 cup Miniature Marshmallows
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries (optional)
sliced almonds, optional (The kids did not want nuts, so I sprinkled some on top of mine.)
