Homemade Chia Head

Crystal the Cat

I am always looking for fun stuff to do with Aria. I got this idea from a book, I have, called "Big Book of Things to Do" from Usborne Books. It is going to grow grass from it's head. If you want to make your own grass head with us, here are the instructions.

1. Wet an old sock and put it into a mug. Stretch sock over the top of mug.

2. Sprinkle grass seed inside to cover bottom of sock.

3. Fill the sock with potting soil.

4. Pull up sides and push soil down and wrap a rubber band tightly around the top close to the dirt. Cut off excess sock.

5. Pour water onto the top of the sock. Lift it up and let it drip.

6. Turn it upside down. Put it on a saucer.

7. Make a face with some buttons and pins. (Aria thought it looked like a cat so she added the toothpicks for whiskers)

8. Pour some water into the saucer.

9. Put your creature in a warm, light room. Make sure you keep the top wet.

The book says that it should have hair within a few days and after it grows hair you can cut it and it will keep growing. We will see what happens. I will keep an update on Crystal the Cat.
