Audrey's 1st Birthday

Audrey turned one on Monday, May 11. I can't believe how the time flew. It seems like just yesterday I brought her home from the hospital. Audrey is such a joy in our life. She has been a wonderful addition to our family and makes us smile every day.

On the morning of Audrey's birthday, Brian made pancakes. Audrey loves breakfast, especially pancakes. Her hair was a little crazy that morning.
I enjoy making birthday cakes for my children. I think it is just extra special when it is homemade.

I decided it would be fun to copy Audrey's favorite lovey for her cake.

Gifts

Not sure how to blow out the candle.

She was a little lady and did not get too messy. I think she was also a little nervous with everyone looking at her and a little tired.

All and all it was a great day! It has been a fun journey having more than one child. There was a four year gap between Aria and Audrey and I was not sure what it was going to be like. But now that I look back, me being the youngest I really missed out on not having younger siblings. I have also learned why people like babies so much. I never understood that until I had Audrey. Children are not babies very long and you want to hold onto that as long as you can and cherish every moment. Babies don't talk back and don't get into trouble, they just want you to hold them and love them and it is so simple. So it was a bittersweet day seeing my baby now becoming a toddler.
