Summer is half way over with and it always goes to fast some days and other days it can drag forever. We have been keeping ourselves busy. I got the girls into some swim lessons super last minute but it turned out great. I found a teacher on KSL Classifieds and she was awesome. The girls learned a lot and can't wait to head to Cherry Hill and try our their new skills.
Aria jumped off the diving board for the first time!
Audrey's turn....while waiting her turn she kept dunking her head under the water and loving it.
We have been in our new home for about 2 months. We have had to run to Home Depot quit a few times not to fix anything major just make the house more to our liking. In the main bath where Audrey and William mostly take baths there is tile around the bath. In our old home we had cultured marble and I had a little suction cup, bath toy holder but the suctions do not want to stick to this tile. Before the suction cup holder I just had a plastic basket, but I like to have the toys drain and not leave a gross puddle at the bottom. So I went and visited my good friend Pinterest and entered in Bath Toy Storage and Voila! I am a organizing junkie (I love the Container Store) and I thought this idea was genius! I immediately ran to the dollar store and found the plastic crates, and I grabbed some shower curtain hooks to hang the crates but somewhere between check out and my car they didn't make it home? So I happened to have some shower hooks but I am going to have to pick some regular hooks up at the store sometime so they stay hooked. Anyway, I grabbed a shower curtain rod at Wally World and there you go!
We painted Audrey's room a few weeks ago and moved Aria out into her own room. I decided to make the lower bunk bed a reading nook for Audrey. She loves to read so it has been a lot of fun for her.
First I sewed her some curtains, then bought a long tension rod at Target and screwed in a hook and pinched it closed around the rod to keep it from bowing.
Add a light and some pillows and there you have a cozy nook.
Some things I have learned lately are that throw pillows, comforter sets and rugs are really expensive. Over the Fourth of July JoAnns had a big sale so I was able to get some pillow forms half off plus found some material that I really liked on sale plus great tutorial online equals beautiful pillow in minutes. So easy and I can take off the cover and wash if needed.
